    Matthew 7:1-6 (ESV)

The Sermon on the Mount is practical instruction on how we are to JUDGE OTHERS.

    Question: How are you doing?

    Key Scripture Passage

Matthew 7:4 (ESV) “Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your
eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye?”

What is the definition of “Judge”?
"form an opinion or conclusion about”

    1. God will judge US the way WE judge others (7:1-2)
    2. We should first check our own MOTIVES and our HEARTS for any unrecognized planks. (Jeremiah 17:9-10)
    3. Our world is filled with SINS and LIES. (John 7:24)

    Last Thought

The key to understanding Jesus' teaching is to look at the condition of one’s own heart. We are to make proper judgments about right and wrong, but not out of pride or self-righteousness. We are not to take God’s place in judging. We are not to condemn others. However, we are to be discerning and act on the truths of God’s Word.
