    Philippians 2:14 (ESV)

Complaining – to express dissatisfaction with a circumstance which is not wrong a wrong circumstance and about which I’m not doing anything to correct within the leadership structure and boundaries as established by God.

    Psalm 106:6–12 (ESV)

    1 Thessalonians 5:18 (ESV)

Gratitude – an attitude of thankfulness for what God has done, is doing, and will do; the explicit choice – whether I feel like it or not – to recognize God’s loving Hand on everything that touches our life.

    Romans 5:3–5 (NLT)

We must see every circumstance as God coming to us through that circumstance to make us more like His son, Jesus Christ. None of these circumstances touch my life except that God allows it and is using it – for His glory. He is in control of EVERYTHING.

    2 Corinthians 12:9–10 (ESV)

    2 Corinthians 1:8-10 (ESV)

    Luke 17:12–19 (ESV)

In the short term, an attitude of complaining separates us from God and brings His judgment. In the long term it becomes a lifestyle that sends us to the wilderness, giving us a life of wandering and wondering.

In the short term, an attitude of gratitude draws us near to God and gives peace for the present. In the long term it becomes a lifestyle that brings us into the Promised Land, unlocking the fullness of life, providing vision and purpose for tomorrow.

    Colossians 3:17 (ESV)
