Believe it or not, VBS 2012 is just around the corner. This year, we will take to the skies with Amazing Wonders Aviation: Encountering God’s Awesome Power during the week of June 10-15. You will want to sign up right away and secure your favorite spot. Sign-up sheets are on the bulletin board in the lobby under Upcoming Events. A VBS clinic (sponsored by Spartanburg County Baptist Network) will be held on Monday, March 26th from 6:30-8:30 pm at Philadelphia Baptist Church for all age group workers, crafts, music, recreation, etc. Be sure to see Lena if you plan to attend.

True Worship

Dear Crossroads Church family, I want to personally thank you again for the privilege you have extended to me in the Lord to stand before you each Sunday and Wednesday and preach and teach the powerful Truth of God’s Holy Word. Without a doubt, I believe the Bible is the greatest book ever written. Although I myself am a weakened, fallen, earthly vessel, my hearts desire through the power of God is to deliver a message of love and hope as found in Scripture with much passion, energy and conviction. O that I may be found faithful the day I stand before the Lord Jesus Christ – “for they (ministers, pastors, leaders) watch out for your souls, as those who must give an account.” (Hebrews 13:17) Let me encourage all who can to join us this Wednesday evening at 6:30pm as we continue to study and apply “God’s Game Plan” to our personal lives and to the ministry and purpose of the local church. In this next lesson, we get even more practical about our role in what we are supposed to be doing as servants and witnesses of the Lord God Almighty… Also, this coming Sunday, Lord willing, we continue with Part 2 of the message “True Worship”… Remember, we don't come to church to worship. We come to church with worship already in our hearts and lives. Worship is not what we do on Sunday morning for one hour in a church. Worship is what we do 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – from here to heaven. May God Richly Bless You This Week, Rich

No Plan B

Dear Crossroads Church family,

I am excited to let you know about a new Bible study I will be leading at the Crossroads campus on Wednesday evenings called “God’s Game Plan”. We will begin this week and the class will meet for one hour (6:30pm – 7:30pm). After a time of prayer, we will enter into an in-depth look at Scripture to better understand exactly what the Lord Jesus is expecting of His Church and from His followers. My hope is that we will together begin a life-changing journey focused on restoring God’s priorities for our lives and for His Church.

With that idea in mind, it is clear to most that, unfortunately, the church in America is in decline – and many good Christian people are lost as to what to do… I believe the problem is not with God’s plan, but with the Church’s failure to properly implement it. The Church was bought and paid for by the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, and it was created to succeed – to win. Jesus made this point clear in Matthew 16:18 when He said, “I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Obviously, we have been called to work together as the Body of Christ to take His message of love, obedience and forgiveness into a dark world. The Church and its members are the very instrument our sovereign God has determined to use as His tool of light and hope to change hearts and lives and to draw all unto Himself – and there is no Plan B…

We must know His game plan and follow His strategy. Please come and join us as we study together – all are welcome!

Winter Jam

One80 will go to Bi-Lo Center on Friday, February 10th for Winter Jam. The concert starts at 7 pm. We will leave the church at 1 pm, get something to eat and go get in line (First come, first serve!) Cost is $10.

Super Bowl Party

Join the fellowship on Sunday, February 5th at 6:30 as we gather to watch the Super Bowl together. Bring your favorite snacks and finger foods to share. Even if you don’t care for football, this will be a fun time for all!

Chocolate Delight Night

Chocolate Delight Night is Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 6 pm. All ladies are encouraged to attend this fun annual event. Bring your favorite decadent dessert to share. Crossroads women’s ministry will provide a light dinner to compliment all this deliciousness. We will be blessed with the music of Anointed Harmony. Our guest speaker is Carlotta Jackson. Be sure to invite someone along!

VBS

Believe it or not, it is time to begin thinking about VBS. Though it is not until June, it will be here before we know it. You will find sign-up sheets on the children’s bulletin board in the hallway between the lobby and the gym. Be sure to claim your spot very soon. There will be opportunities for training in the near future for all workers. VBS is possibly the biggest outreach event of the year for Crossroads. We would like for everyone to join in this effort. There is a place for everyone!
